CBD Oils Having Multiple Purposes

Posted by David on

What type of CBD delivery method do you prefer? Is it some type of topical solution? Perhaps an edible of some sort? Or, maybe you want to be vaping some good ol’ CBD. One thing that we love about cannabidiol, l (CBD) is how extremely versatile it is, and how each delivery method allows us to experience hemp in a unique way. Different delivery methods have unique absorption rates which can determine things like how potently the cannabidiol is felt, how long it lasts in the system, and how quickly it takes effect.

One of the reasons why we love CBD oil is because it allows us to enjoy a variety of delivery methods as needed. It’s perhaps the most versatile CBD-based product around, and easily the most popular.

But first, for those who are still unclear…

A Quick Recep on CBD Oil

CBD oil can be a bit of a misleading term, as it turns out. It almost always refers to a product consisting of a hemp extract that’s been combined and diluted with a carrier oil. Many people mistakenly think that CBD oil refers to an oil that’s solely CBD, but that isn’t the case. Even the hemp extract can contain more than cannabidiol. Full and broad spectrum hemp extracts contain a variety of compounds that occur in hemp in addition to CBD, with broad spectrum being the THC-free alternative to full spectrum. There’s also CBD isolate, which is just pure cannabidiol.

CBD oil comes in a variety of milligram strengths, which refers to the concentration of hemp extract in comparison to the carrier oil. In some cases, CBD oil may have flavoring agents, but that is always specified on the packaging.

What Can CBD Oil Be Used For?

Now, let’s take a look at the many ways in which you can utilize CBD oil.

Use #1: An Oral Tincture

The most popular way to use CBD oil is as an oral tincture. Oral tinctures are oil or liquid solutions that are held under the tongue for about a minute before being swallowed. During that minute under the tongue, the compounds absorb into the sublingual tissue, which allows for fast activation. When CBD is taken as a tincture, it can take about 15 to 45 minutes to take effect and can last for a few hours.

Use #2: Food Additive

Some people use CBD oil as a food additive, incorporating it into salad dressings, baked goods and more. CBD oil can’t exceed a temperature of 356 degrees Fahrenheit, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t find a wide array of ways to enjoy it as part of your culinary endeavors. Don’t be afraid to get creative, and if you must, look for recipes online, as there are many CBD enthusiasts who are happy to share their recipes with you.

Use #3: Topical Solution

CBD oil works as a great topical agent as well. The compounds in hemp absorb through the skin very easily and quickly, with many users saying that it can work almost instantly. The oily consistency ensures fast and thorough absorption, and as an added bonus, you can enjoy some super moisturized skin after application.

Use #4: An Ingredient for a Customized Formula

You can definitely use CBD oil as an ingredient for your own formula, whether that be bath bombs, skin cream, hair conditioner, an edible gummy or something else entirely. CBD oil is the basis of pretty much all hemp formulas out there, so if you’re feeling creative, come up with your own one-of-a-kind recipe.

Use #5: Vape Additive

Certain CBD oils can be added to e-liquids, which means that you could turn your favorite vape juice flavor into a CBD-infused e-juice. Just make sure that the manufacturer approves of using a CBD oil as a vape additive before going ahead and doing it, as some contain ingredients that may not be vape-friendly. If you must, you can call the manufacturer and ask them.

Use #6: Pet-Friendly Products

You can make pet goods with some good, old-fashioned CBD oil. Pets can enjoy CBD treats, tinctures and topicals with the same CBD oil that you use for yourself. Just make sure that you use a milligram strength that’s appropriate for their size, as this is very important. And, we strongly recommend that you do speak to your vet before giving your pet CBD, and ONLY use pet-friendly ingredients.

CBD Oil’s Incredible Versatility Makes It a Must-Have for Every Household

Even if you already have a regular routine with some other type of hemp product, having a bottle of CBD oil lying around means you can enjoy a wide array of delivery methods on demand as needed.
