A Vaping Rule: Don’t Forget to Recycle

One of the most critical actions you can take after using vaping products is that of recycling. While most people may disregard packaging and warnings to just throw parts in the trash, this is actually not allowed due to the contents of rechargeable (or non-rechargeable) batteries for instance. A more energy-efficient and safe for the environment disposal method is to recycle vape devices and parts. From plastic or glass e-liquid bottles to batteries and coils, each segment of an e-cig, vaporizer, or even a MOD can easily be recycled.

The first item that you may not have thought to recycle is that of the plastic or glass e-liquid bottles. Since these are fairly tiny, you may assume that it’s totally fine to just throw away. However, by putting these in the recycling bin instead of the trash, you’ve just helped the environment stay a little bit healthier. Glass packaging can be infinitely recycled without any loss in quality, meaning that your glass bottle can turn into another glass bottle with no noticeable defects. Plastic bottles can return to life as other types of containers or even piping.

Another item that you must consider recycling is the battery within a device. Some states here in the United States actually have laws prohibit batteries from being placed in the regular trash; so be on the lookout for these types of laws. The reasoning behind such policies is that the contents of batteries, if exposed to the environment, can actively harm animals and plants quite a bit. The proper way to recycle lithium ion batteries is to find a drop-off spot—these are usually found in or around superstores, supermarkets, or any recycling center. At these drop-off spots, you can simply put your batteries in the boxes and be on your way.

Finally, you should also be conscious that you can recycle your coils, as they’re made of metal. As we all know, metal is a recyclable material, so it needs to be done properly. This is done by ensuring that the wicks have been removed and properly disposed of prior to recycling.

It’s surprising how many parts of a vaping device can and should be recycled. If you find yourself about to throw a part out, make sure you consider recycling it instead.
