4 Key Factors to Look For In an E-Liquid

Posted by David on

Sometimes shopping for a new e-liquid can be pretty difficult. Swamped with technical details on every page, from nicotine strengths and chemical contents to liquid viscosity and more, distractions abound. Here, we’ll show you the 4 key factors that should influence your decision in selecting an e-liquid, whether you’re an experienced vaper or a newbie.

Key Factor #1: Flavor

By far the most important influence on your  e-juice selection is that of flavor. When you’re about to go shopping for a new e-liquid, you should pause for a moment and think about what you want for your next experience. Perhaps you want a summery, exotic flavor, or maybe you would prefer a more down to earth taste. Sometimes you want to embrace your wild side and go for those super unique flavors you and your friends haven’t even heard of, and sometimes one of your vaping buddies has an e-liquid flavor that you want to get yourself. Because there are so many flavors and types or genres of tastes on our website, deciding what you want is definitely the most important thing you can do before you even start looking for an e-liquid.

Key Factor #2: Nicotine Strength

If you’re an experienced vaper, you might already know what the different strengths of nicotine give you. However, if you’re new, each selection in the wide range of strengths offer an entirely different experience. A brief rundown of the spectrum can help you understand how important nicotine strength is. Low or nonexistent nicotine levels in an e-liquid hint that it’s made more for taste and flavor focus through user experience. Medium to high nicotine levels in e-liquids mean you’ve probably been vaping for longer or have smoked in the past. How the vapor hits your throat definitely changes with nicotine strength as well. Low nicotine liquids will provide a lighter throat hit, while high nicotine concentrations give a much more present throat hit. Depending on your past experience with nicotine products and with your throat hit and flavor preferences, nicotine strength plays a critical part in what you look for in an e-juice.

Key Factor #3: PG/VG Base

E-liquids’ main component is one of two liquids:  propylene glycol (PG) or vegetable glycerin (VG). PG is a humectant—meaning it keeps things moist. Therefore, it’s pretty easy to make the e-liquid give a strong and thick throat hit that is reliable through all of your pulls. As a liquid, it’s pretty thin, which helps when cleaning out your tanks. On the other hand, VG is thicker and sweeter. E-Liquids with VG tend to produce more vapor, but are harder to clean when it comes time for that. Choosing e-juice(s) with PG or VG is definitely a decision that comes after experiencing both at least once.

Factor #4: Your Device

The final factor influencing your  vape juice choice lies in your hands. The device that you use is a direct influence on how the e-liquid you buy responds. Since MODs are made to produce vapor and pull more liquid and e-cigarettes are meant to pull slower and in a more restrictive manner, each type of device has an entirely different personality. Some e-liquids will specifically say they’re for certain devices, so be sure to look out for that. Others won’t specify, and it’s up to your judgement whether the e-liquid will work for your device and for your preference. However, if you really are unsure, just ask us and we’ll tell you.

Don’t forget to experiment with your e-liquids sometimes, and figure out what’s right for you. Though choosing an e-juice may seem difficult, making a checklist and going through these factors should help you make your decision
